Minister for Health and Social Security Martine Deprez confirmed that the trade union for pharmacists requested a higher compensation for on-duty pharmacies. In her response to a parliamentary question asked by Luxembourg Socialist Workers’ Party (LSAP) MP Mars di Bartolomeo, Martine Deprez did not share the government’s standpoint on the pharmacists’ request and neither did she share the extent of the increase.

The minister nevertheless underlined that at present they are not envisaging reducing the number of on-duty hours pharmacies are currently offering. As of right now, there are 10 on-duty pharmacies. The newly-negotiated salary should equal the actual amount of costs on-duty hours require.
