
At 9.20pm, the torch-lit procession will commence its journey throughout the capital city. Participants will follow a 650-meter-long route, beginning in the vibrant Grand-Rue and passing through the renowned Place Guillaume II.
But the excitement doesn’t end there! Prepare yourself for a breathtaking display of fireworks that is set to begin at 11pm from the iconic Pont Adolphe. The display will last about 17 minutes and will be accompanied by the talented musicians of the Luxembourg City Conservatoire. For the best view of the spectacle, be sure to arrive early and secure a spot overlooking the bridge.
Weather info: Expect strong downpours and high winds of up to 40 km/h throughout the day, with storms expected to persist until late afternoon. However, there is a chance that the showers will clear up towards the evening, offering a more optimistic outlook for the Torch-lit parade and fireworks in Luxembourg.
Before the main events kick off, immerse yourself in the lively atmosphere of Place d’Armes. Starting from 6pm, the festivities will come alive with musical entertainment.
Additionally, various bands will be performing at different locations around town, such as Place Hamilius, Rue du Saint Esprit, Place Auguste Engel, Rue des Bains, and Place Heinisch. With an estimated crowd of 100,000 people expected to flock to the capital on the eve of National Day, it’s bound to be an unforgettable experience. In light of this, bars have been granted late-nightopening permits, allowing them to serve drinks until 3am.
As part of the ‘City Sounds’ series, the municipality of Luxembourg City has also arranged a lineup of free live concerts on both National Day and the evening preceding the holiday. Glacis Square’s car park will be unavailable due to the festivities, so it is recommended to rely on public transportation or park and ride facilities to reach the city center.
