As every year, many revellers will be bringing their cars to the capital. While some will have their own parking arrangements, others will have to decide on the spot. To avoid any complications, we have compiled a list of alternative transportation options available to you.
The first recommendation comes straight from the Luxembourg City Council, which advises you to use the following park-and-ride facilities: P+R Bouillon, P+R Howald, P+R Stade de Luxembourg, and P+R Kockelscheuer. These facilities offer frequent shuttle bus services, with buses departing every five to ten minutes, providing easy access to the city centre.
Alternatively, for those who prefer the tram, the Kirchberg P+R is an excellent option. Along the tram route, additional parking facilities can be found, including the car parks around Place de l’Europe.
For those who prefer to venture into the streets of the capital, limited parking spaces will be available in areas not closed to traffic. Do keep an eye out for “no parking” signs to avoid the inconvenience of finding your car impounded after a night out.
Finally, motorists have the option of parking at the nearest train stations and taking the train to the central railway station. Special trains have been scheduled for lines 10, 30, 50, 60, 60A, and 70. Full details are available on the CFL website or by clicking on the box below.
