A police patrol at Luxembourg central station was approached by an injured man at around 9.20pm on Monday. The individual had suffered a serious hand wound and reported that he had just been attacked by two men, one of whom used a knife. The suspects fled towards Avenue de la Liberté after the assault. Officers quickly located one of the men in the area. The second suspect, described as using crutches and having only one leg, was found a short time later on Rue du Fort Neipperg.

Upon police arrival, he was holding a knife and dropped it when ordered to do so. Both men were taken to the police station, where searches revealed that each was carrying an additional knife. On the instructions of the public prosecutor, both suspects were arrested and are set to appear before an examining magistrate.

Earlier in the day, at around 4.10pm, police had stopped and searched two men in front of Luxembourg central station on suspicion of a drug transaction. A security check uncovered three small packets containing illegal substances. Both men were arrested.

At 3.43pm, police were alerted during a customs check on Avenue Pasteur in Limpertsberg about a driver operating a vehicle without a valid licence. Checks revealed that the individual was already banned from driving until 2029. Police arrested the motorist and seized the vehicle.

Several burglaries have also been reported across the country in recent hours. On Tuesday, break-ins were discovered at Kohlenberg in Cessange, op der Flohr in Grevenmacher, and rue Laurent Menager in Pfaffenthal. In these cases, unknown perpetrators entered homes and searched several rooms.

Vehicles were also targeted, with incidents on rue d’Asselborn in Troisvierges and rue Albert Unden in Mühlenbach, where windows were smashed to gain access. In a further incident between Tuesday night and Wednesday morning, a window of a camper van was broken on rue Saint-Quirin in the Grund, and various valuables were stolen from inside the vehicle.

Police note that several of these cases remain under investigation.
