On Sunday around noon, an incident occurred at the Luxembourg prison centre in Schrassig, when a detainee attacked a prison officer, the Luxembourg Prison Administration reported on Monday.
Prison officers on site quickly intervened to secure the safety of their assaulted colleague. Two other officers were injured during the altercation, with one being taken to the hospital for a check-up and later discharged, while the second officer’s injuries did not require medical attention.
The detainee also underwent a medical evaluation. The public prosecutor has been notified, and the Grand Ducal Police responded to the scene. An investigation is currently underway.
