The transactional documents were signed at the beginning of the week.

Although the purchase was completed on Monday, the A400M will remain in Sevilla until mid October, where it was manufactured and carried out its first successful flight on 14 April.

According to the news agency Belga, the plane will be stationed alongside 7 Belgian aircrafts at the military base Melsbroek near Brussels within two months time.

It has been 19 years since the Grand Duchy and Belgium ordered the 8 airbus carriers. The total costs for the A400M will amount to €420 million.
