The representative overseeing the Israeli stand has asserted that the last-minute cancellation stems from significant security concerns.
Furthermore, a letter seeking clarification on the presence of police officers for security at the exhibition hall was dispatched to the police. The Israeli team has yet to receive a response to their inquiry.
Following parliament’s question posed by Marc Goergen of the Pirate Party, Police Minister Léon Gloden responded by affirming that no letter had been received by either the executive management or any other services. However, Minister Gloden clarified that the police had engaged in communication with the organising team via phone and email. Notably, heightened security measures were requested due to the scheduled visit of the Israeli ambassador.
In light of these security considerations, a decision was made to cancel the stand. The stand, regarded as one of the founding members of Bazar International, would have participated as usual if not for the aforementioned security concerns according to the person in charge of the stand.
