Hailing from Devon, Helen has a fascinating life story, from childhood in England to her arrival in France, where she spent a decade teaching English at a college before transitioning into a translator.
In an interview with RTL’s Terence Jarosz, Helen reflected on her love-hate relationship with the French language and the works of the classics - both French (Molière) and English (Shakespeare).
As an elected representative of the French Republic, Helen fully embraced the civic affairs of her adopted homeland, culminating in her obtaining French citizenship.
She spoke to Jarosz about the rights of foreign nationals to vote in local elections in the EU. All EU citizens are entitled to vote in such elections, including non-Luxembourgish residents in the upcoming municipal elections on 11 June.
Helen is also, of course, a British citizen, and shares her perspective on the coronation of King Charles III, providing unique insight into her personal views on this important event.
Overall, Helen’s life offers a unique glimpse into the life of a remarkable individual who has bridged cultures and languages in pursuit of her passions.
