With perfect weather, a great atmosphere and music, a new project named the ''Theaterplage'' was inaugurated on Wednesday. The beach on Place de Theatre creates a real summer feeling in the city centre.
However, the ''beach'' does not have a pool and if you want to refresh yourself in cool water you have to drive to Dommeldange, to use the outdoor pool of a hotel. The city of Luxembourg does not have its own outdoor pool but the municipality is trying to change this in the following years. Even if the planned pools in the Ban de Gasperich park cannot be realised, Mayor Lydie Polfer remains optimistic that a new place, perhaps closer to Kockelscheuer and the tram, will be found.
The project is not concrete yet, but the mayor hopes that the it will be realised in the near future.
