Trier police were alerted to a brawl around 2.40am on Sunday morning at the "Trierer Viehmarkt", according to local newspaper Trierischer Volksfreund.
Once officers arrived at the scene, the majority of the groups had already dispersed. Nevertheless, police were able to detain ten people between the age of 18 and 21 from the Grand Duchy. Local bystanders confirmed their involvement in the altercation.
Given that members of the group were strongly intoxicated and continued to behave aggressively, the police officially expelled them from city grounds. Officers further confiscated two car keys to prevent people from driving while under the influence of alcohol.
One of the detained people received medical treatment due to cut wounds.
