Temperatures of over 20°C, like on Saturday, are quite exceptional for the start of April. However, on Sunday, the return to normalcy will feel brutal.

This weekend, the weather was in full summer mode, approaching 25°C in some areas, with plenty of people frolicking on the streets wearing just a t-shirt and shorts. Adding sunshine, with virtually no rain in recent weeks, and you have a pleasant reprieve from the cold, wet autumn and winter we’ve just endured.

In short, the weather has been giving us a run for our money over the last few months... and it’s not over yet! From this Sunday, temperatures are set to drop significantly. Temperatures will hover around 0°C in the morning (2 to 4°C expected), before climbing to around 10°C during the day. This means there will be a drop of more than 10°C compared with the day before. Gusts of wind up to 50 km/h will also be blowing across the country.

On Monday, get ready to take out your winter attire once again, as temperatures will fluctuate between 0 and 10°C. Over the following days, the temperature will slowly rise again, reaching 15-16°C on Thursday.
The sun is expected in its full force though, with few clouds forecasted until the end of the week. The upcoming weather may not be welcome by gardeners, who may be begging for rain to return. This very dry spell has been going on for several weeks now, and is rather unusual to Luxembourg.

With 222.8 hours of sunshine, March 2025 has become the sunniest March ever recorded at the Luxembourg-Findel Airport weather station since observations began in 1947.
