The technical fault, detected on Thursday morning, prompted an immediate response from the Grand Ducal Fire and Rescue Corps (CGDIS), with technical intervention services deployed to address the problem. While the situation is being remedied, one lane of traffic has been temporarily blocked, and a speed limit of 70 km/h has been imposed for safety reasons.
The Bridges and Roads Authority assures the public that these measures will be lifted as soon as the technical issue is resolved, and a complete closure of the tunnel is not currently anticipated.
Notably, potential disruption in the tunnel was already forecast on Wednesday evening. Motorists are urged to adhere to traffic restrictions, exercise caution, and follow instructions provided by emergency personnel on-site for their safety and the efficient resolution of the situation.
