On 26 January, analyses from the Mélick water reservoir indicated a bacterial contamination of the water. On Tuesday, the municipality of Echternach announced that the tap water is once again safe for consumption.
According to the statement published by the municipal authorities, the water reservoir was treated with chlorine following the discovery of bacterial contamination.
