Residents should refrain from consuming tap water in Echternach, said the municipality. If urgent, it should at least be boiled for 10 minutes.

The municipal executive of Echternach published a statement on Tuesday afternoon informing residents that analyses had shown a bacterial contamination of the town's tap water.

The following streets are affected:

The municipality's technical staff are working alongside the responsible state institutions to fix the problem as quickly as possible.
