The Labour Ministry and the Environment Agency have granted Tanklux authorisation to build additional fuel storage tanks at the Mertert harbour.

The approval comes with a set of conditions that the company will be required to fulfill. However, Grevenmacher's municipal council has announced its intention to lodge an appeal against the decision.

Residents who previously submitted objections to the project are being notified, and a public notice of the authorisation will be posted.

The expansion and the council's response will be discussed as an agenda item at the next Grevenmacher council meeting on Friday.
