On Sunday, police received a report of a theft from a car on Rue Dr. Klein in Ettelbruck.
One or more perpetrators had stolen items from the vehicle, including a tablet and a cardholder containing personal documents and a credit card, after the car had been left unlocked.
Shortly afterwards, the victim received a notification indicating that the stolen credit card had been used to pay for something at a café on Rue Prince Henri in Ettelbruck.
On arrival, officers came across a suspect and secured both the credit card and the tablet.
On the orders of the public prosecutor's office, the man was arrested and brought before an examining magistrate. Investigations are ongoing.
On the same day, a theft was reported on board a train.
The victim had fallen asleep, and upon waking, discovered that several items had been stolen, including his e-scooter, credit card, headphones and charging cables.
It was later found that the card had been used for a transaction. The suspect, who was in possession of the e-scooter, was tracked down at Ettelbruck train station.
During a search, one of the charging cables was recovered. The e-scooter was seized and returned to its owner. Investigations into this incident are also ongoing.
