A man sustained a cut to his head during a violent robbery near Avenue John F Kennedy in Kirchberg on Wednesday evening. According to initial reports, the victim was assaulted after confronting two individuals who he suspected to have stolen his backpack.
The situation escalated when the man noticed the theft and tried to confront the suspects, leading to the attack. Police responded to the scene and provided first aid before the victim was taken to hospital for further treatment.
Both suspects were located shortly after and apprehended. One of them was found in possession of the suspected weapon and the stolen backpack.
On orders from the public prosecutor, one suspect was taken into custody and is set to appear before an investigating judge on Thursday afternoon.
