Winter arrives in LuxembourgSubzero temperatures and frost herald colder days ahead

RTL Today
After the majority of December was rather mild and wet, we're ending the month and the year with weather conditions more typical of winter.

If you happened to unpack all your thick winter clothing and felt disappointed at not being able to wear them yet, your time has come. Frosty and cold days have descended upon us in the post-Christmas period.

The good news is that we're having the nicer variant of winter days - temperatures may have dropped below 0°C at night, but the sky remains a clear and glacial blue. If you're one for brisk walks under the winter sun, this is the optimum time for that.

During the week of the new year, temperatures will drop down to -2°C and reach highs of only 5 or 6°C. We'll have some clear skies through to the middle of the week, ensuring that the short days will be filled with sunshine.

However, on a practical note, the frost brought by the colder temperatures could cause slippery roads, as Meteolux warns.

Our colleagues at RTL 5Minutes have already received some photos of the wintery spell. If you have any to share with us, message us on Facebook or email audience@rtltoday.lu.
