The “allocation de solidarité” benefit will be increased and a new energy allowance introduced, as CSV alderman Laurent Mosar explained in an RTL interview on Wednesday morning.
For a family with two children, this will amount to 1,130 euros. Around 6,000 households are concerned, so this constitutes a considerable sum for the city. But the aid should be disbursed quickly and simply. The households in question will receive the related forms in April and should have the sums paid out within two weeks.
The measures were introduced during the city’s finance commission on Tuesday and should be passed by the municipal council on 28 March. The council also intends to provide assistance to the 800 businesses located in the capital, but these measures are still being worked out, as they are dependent on EU regulation.
