Team patrolled six trains between 10.00 and 14.00 on Thursday, in which six passengers were identified as illegally residing in the Grand Duchy, thus breaking immigration laws. One person was taken into custody.

The sniffer dogs reacted to 25 people in total. One person was found in possession of stolen items.

Two further people were arrested as they were on a national wanted list.

Thursday’s alcohol checks

Police carried out breathalyser checks on a number of vehicles on Thursday night, both on the N10 in Wasserbillig and the CR135 in Berbourg. 276 motorists were checked in total, with three people testing over the legal limit. Two people had their licences withdrawn on the spot.

Officers also stopped a car without a valid technical certificate, fining the driver €145 and taking two points off his licence. Another motorist was stopped because his tyres were too worn out. As they did not meet the 1.6 millimetre threshold, the driver was also subjected to a €145 fine and had points taken off his licence.
