The SNCA is moving to a new site in Marnach at the beginning of January. The new site is due to open on the first floor of a shopping centre, located several hundred metres away from the future technical inspection centre. Those in charge of the office have explained that it requires some time to move the material in question. Consequently, the Oesling region will be without an SNCA office for a period of a few weeks.
Some garage owners in the north had already raised complaints as they were unable to schedule any appointments at the Wilwerwiltz office for the rest of the year.
Both businesses and private individuals hoping to register vehicles in the remainder of the year have been advised to do so at the SNCA sites in Sandweiler or Esch-sur-Alzette. The SNCA has provided assurances that the two other locations will be able to cope with the demand.
Further details surrounding the new Marnach office and its opening hours are expected to be released on Friday. The National Vehicle Testing Centre (SNCT) in Kiischpelt will also move to Marnach.
The technical inspection centre in Wilwerwiltz will remain open for the time being, with a progressive closure planned. There will be a transition phase whilst the centre in Marnach opens by the N7 in the first half of 2020. The news was confirmed by Minister for Mobility and Public Works François Bausch in a response to a parliamentary question.
