
On Wednesday afternoon, police took an individual into custody after the suspect was caught shoplifting from a supermarket in Bereldange. The subsequent investigation revealed the suspect was a repeat offender. As a result, the public prosecutor’s office ordered his arrest and the man was brought before magistrates on Thursday morning.
In Wiltz, a burglar broke into a single-family residence on Montée des Écoles, where he searched a number of cupboards with the intent of stealing valuables. One of the residents caught the suspect in the act, at which point the thief fled, along with jewellery and a tablet.
In Esch-sur-Alzette, two individuals broke into a business on Avenue du Rock’n’Roll overnight, searching all the rooms before fleeing the premises.
Police have launched investigations into both incidents.
