
According to the latest figures published by the Ministry of Health on Friday, 375 flu cases were recorded between 18 and 24 December - a 48% increase compared to the previous week’s 274 cases.
In contrast, Covid cases have declined by around 13% in Luxembourg, with 686 cases confirmed by the Grand Duchy’s laboratories over the last week. The ministry’s report indicates that the BA.2.86 variant is currently dominant in the Grand Duchy, accounting for 43.9% of cases. As for respiratory syncytial virus (RSV), health authorities have noted a slight decrease in the number of cases. However, detailed data was not shared with the press.
