The latest report from the Grand Ducal Police reveals that three muggings and just as many burglaries took place over the weekend.

In Mamer, an adolescent was assaulted and mugged by three individuals around 5.00 pm on Saturday. They stole the victim’s phone, clothes, and other valuable objects. An initial search for the perpetrators was unsuccessful, but an investigation into the matter has been opened nevertheless.

An attempted mugging took place at the Luxembourg City municipal park. Around 7.30 pm, a group of attackers threw a man to the ground and demanded he hand over his wallet. However, two nearby adolescents saw the incident and intervened, after which the attackers fled the scene.

A group of two men and two women successfully stole a man’s wallet in Rue Notre Dame in the capital, after which they escaped in the direction of Place Guillaume. The incident occurred around 3.00 am on Sunday.

Burglaries

Unknown suspects broke into two empty houses in Mondercange on Saturday evening. In one case they broke open the balcony door, in the other they entered through the roof.

Another burglar managed to break into a family home on Boulevard Jules Salentiny in Cents. The perpetrator entered the building through the balcony door on the first floor of the building.

A family home in Troisvierges also fell victim to a burglar, who managed to enter the building through an open window in the garage.
