Over the weekendSeveral driving bans issued for drink driving

The authorities report several instances of drink driving between Saturday and early Sunday morning, resulting in temporary driving bans being issued.

A first case was recorded at around 12.30am in Esch, where a driver was swerving noticeably.

At around 2.40am, police approached a man in Luxembourg City who had fallen asleep with the engine running while parked in a marked bay. He was also found to be over the legal alcohol limit.

At about 2.45am, an accident occurred in Troisvierges where a woman, under the influence of alcohol, crashed into a lamppost. She, too, received a temporary driving ban.

Then around 4.20am, another accident was reported between Bockholtzer Millen and Fond de Heiderscheid, where a driver collided head-on with a tree. The man was taken to hospital, where it was confirmed he was intoxicated.
