
Shortly after 8.00 p.m. on Friday, a collision between two vehicles occurred at a red light in Bertrange. One of the drivers then alerted the police as he believed the woman who crashed into him to be drunk. Officers later confirmed the suspicion with an alcohol test at the scene and revoked the woman’s driving license.
At 9.30 p.m., a police patrol discovered that an accident had taken place on Rue de Hollerich in Luxembourg City. Two vehicles and a light pole were damaged in the process. The driver responsible for the crash tested positive for alcohol. The officers at the scene thus filed a complaint.
Another police patrol encountered a reckless driver near Windhof. A test showed that the motorist had also consumed too much alcohol, which is why officers revoked the man’s license.
Around 3.15 a.m. on Saturday, emergency services alerted the police to an accident at the Fridhaff roundabout, noting that the implicated driver seemed intoxicated. At the scene, officers found that the man had damaged a road sign and that his vehicle was no longer able to drive and therefore needed to be towed. Even though the motorist stated that the road was slippy at the time of the accident, his alcohol test came back positive, which is why officers revoked his license.
Later that same morning, a drink driver crashed into a winter service vehicle on the A4 motorway. A subsequent alcohol test showed that the man had twice the permitted rate, which is why his license was revoked at the scene.
At 4.50 a.m., police were alerted to another reckless driver on the A3 motorway. Officers stopped the vehicle at the Aire de Berchem and conducted an alcohol test, which came back positive. A provisional driving ban was issued.
