On Friday night, two men tried to leave a car park in the Clausen neighbourhood without paying their parking bill.

The two individuals took turns behind the wheel to hit the accelerator in an attempt to smash through the barrier of the car park.

At around 4am, the staff of the car park contacted the police. It turned out that the men were heavily inebriated and certainly above the legal threshold for driving.

The police issued driving bans and filed a complaint against them.

The police bulletin also mentions a mugging that took place in Rue du Commerce in Dudelange. A person riding in the backseat of a motorcycle snatched a pedestrian’s bag off their shoulders on Friday evening.

Drink-driving

Several motorists were pulled over for drink-driving. In total, the police issued one temporary driving ban, withdrew two driving licences, and fined two people.

In Ettelbruck, police pulled over a driver who had been involved in a hit-and-run accident that occurred in Dräikantonsstrooss in Filsdorf. The accident caused significant material damage but no one was injured, according to the police. The driver tested positive for both alcohol and drugs and had to hand over their driving licence.

The police also pulled over inebriated drivers on the CR188 between Schuttrange and Canach, on the road between Ellange and Mondorf-les-Bains, on the A7 near the Gousselerbierg Tunnel, and on the A13 near the Kayl exit respectively.
