The newly published petitions must accumulate over 4,500 signatures by 19 April to be eligible for discussion in an open debate in parliament.
Among the range of demands of the petitioners, there are calls for compensation for workers unable to work from home and full payment for students undertaking internships without earning money, while their internships incur expenses such as commuting.
One petition calls for an end to subsidies for electronic vehicles arguing that taxes should not be used to subsidise the purchase of personal electric cars or other electronic vehicles for personal use. Another petition advocates for an increase in the amount of childcare service vouchers (CSA) as parents struggle to pay for daycare.
A following petition calls for a legal change that allows partners in a civil partnership to approve the cremation of their deceased partner. Another petition argues that every citizen should be offered the opportunity to keep the ashes of their deceased loved ones at home.
Finally, a petition was put forward by a petitioner who wants to ban “the constant and absolutely exaggerated need for new petitions,” essentially a petition against petitions.
