The Grand Ducal police reported seven burglaries between Thursday afternoon and Friday morning.

The break-ins were reported in Dippach, Sandweiler, Hollerich, Limpertsberg and Luxembourg City centre, while two burglaries took place in Hautcharage.

Meanwhile, on Thursday afternoon, a pedestrian had their bag stolen on Rue de Bonnevoie in the capital. The thief fled in the direction of Verlorenkost. According to the police, the thief was male, described as around 40 years of age, 1.8 metres tall and bearded. He wore a black jacket and trousers with a matching hat and black Nike trainers.

On Thursday evening another pedestrian was mugged on Rue de la Montagne in Differdange, at around 8pm. Two unknown individuals stole the victim’s wireless headphones and fled on bicycles towards Rue St. Nicolas. Both wore black clothing and masks.

Police chase in Kayl

Shortly before midnight on Thursday, a police patrol in Kayl noticed a car speeding down Rue de Dudelange. The driver ignored their request to stop, switched off the vehicle’s lights and attempted to flee. A brief police chase ensued. When officers caught up with the vehicle, the driver was found to be over the legal alcohol limit and consequently had their licence confiscated.
On Thursday evening, two alcohol checks took place in Bissen and Lorentzweiler. 332 motorists were checked, with four testing over the legal limit. One driver had their licence taken away on the spot.
