The association of restaurateurs, hoteliers and cafetiers immediately made an appointment for a meeting with Lex Delles, Minister of Middle Classes, after the government announced new health measures in Luxembourg this week. The association says that many demands have been made to the government.
These include an extension of state financial aid at least until June. Specific measures will hopefully be discussed in a meeting with the Minister of Finance.
In particular, the representatives wish to create a new voucher for customers that is valid for one year in Horesca establishments. Moreover, they are also asking for the tax rate to be reduced to 3% on all their services.
Lastly, an interview with the Minister of Health is requested to prepare for the possible reopening on 1 February with, among other things, a specific large-scale screening campaign reserved for members of the sector.
An initial aid package was announced on Thursday to compensate for the huge losses due to this prolonged closure.
