More and more people are trying to move away from typical consumer behaviour and are becoming interested in more sustainable life styles. To provide a source of inspiration for those individuals, the Anti-Waste Festival was organised for the first time in 2020.
“On the one hand it is good for the wallet and for saving. On the other hand it is important to actively go against wasting in light of the climate crisis”, explained Jerry Hartung, president of Differdange’s social commission.
While anti-wasteful behaviour was at the centre of attention during the last edition of the Festival, this year focused on saving energy and repairing tools.
Local and national traders, such as the ‘Butzebuttik’, the ‘Okkasiounsbuttik’, and the ‘Superdreckskëscht’, made it to Oberkorn to exhibit their goods across 30 stands in the ‘Hall O’ building. Visitors of the Festival were also able to learn more about fermentation, making their own cleaning products, and operating non-electrical household items with the help of pedals.
