Originally created in 2007 by an artist collective led by Rik Van Kerchove, the colourful gateway has been updated each year to reflect the new date.
The setup marks the start of preparations ahead of the annual funfair, scheduled to run from 22 August to 10 September 2025. As part of the transformation, parking spaces at Glacis are being gradually closed – the first section shuts on 13 July, with further closures following on 29 July.
