The annual sporting challenge has been a mainstay of the RTL Group, only taking a break in 2020 and 2021 due to the pandemic – but still donating €55,000 to support research at the time.
For 450 minutes of continuous spinning, around 300 participants in 23 teams will take turns on bikes at RTL City. Each kilometre cycled will be converted into donations, with partner companies G-art, DHL Luxembourg, Travel Pro, and Post Luxembourg contributing €5 per kilometre. Additionally, a charity sale of Télévie products will be held to encourage public contributions.
Numerous political and sports figures are participating in this challenge. Among them are politicians such as Claude Wiseler, Mars Di Bartolomeo, Léon Gloden, Max Hahn, Martine Deprez, Martine Hansen, Georges Mischo, Carole Hartmann, Ben Polidori, Sam Tanson, and Mandy Minella. The event also welcomes athletes including cyclists Laurent and Lex Reichling, athletes Vera Hoffmann and Patrizia van der Weken, swimmers Julien Henx and Laurent Carnol, and former professional cyclist Laurent Didier.
From 7pm to 7.30pm, several distinguished guests will participate in the VIP Bike, including Elmar Heggen (COO and Deputy CEO of RTL Group), Christophe Goossens (CEO RTL Luxembourg), Luc Marteling (News Director RTL Luxembourg), Georges Mischo (Minister of Sport; Minister of Labour), Laura Thorn (Winner of the 2025 LSC), and Diane Wunsch (Télévie Coordinator). This highlight of the day will be broadcast live on the show Live! Planet People from 7pm to 7.30pm.
The Télévie Challenge will begin at 12pm and conclude at 8.15pm. A key highlight will be the official check presentation at 8pm, announcing the total amount raised, followed by a Pasta Party to end the event on a convivial note.
Télévie was launched in Belgium in 1989 by the National Fund for Scientific Research to support cancer research. Luxembourg joined this initiative in 2002, and since then, thousands of people have continued to contribute to this important cause.
