Deteriorating electrical infrastructureRoute yet to be revealed for controversial Creos high-voltage line

RTL Today
There has not yet been any decisions on the route required for the new 380 kilovolt line, which will pass from Germany, through Bofferdange to join Bertrange.

The exact route for the controversial high-voltage line is yet to be determined, although plans are in place to establish a substation in the Bofferdange/Altlinster area.

The installation of the line is necessary due to the fact that the current infrastructure, which dates back to the 1960s, cannot support demands for long-term electricity consumption.

The project has been subject to discussion for several years, necessitating a number of environmental impact studies, which have now been completed.
Several alternative routes for the line have now been proposed following criticism by residents in the concerned municipalities. Creos is in the process of organising information meetings for citizens, with one taking place in Steinsel on Thursday 13 October at 6pm.
