The petition calling for a right to telework is being debated in the Chamber of Deputies on Monday morning.

Discussions around the topic began at 8.30 am this morning. The respective petition (number 1556) demands that remote work should be allowed for half of the scheduled work hours if an employee, who is able to conduct their responsibilities from home, desires to do so.

The initiator of the petition hopes that this measure could be beneficial for the well-being of employees and also help to curb carbon emissions. Hence the proposal to amend the respective work laws.

More than 5,800 signatures supported the petition, which rendered it eligible for discussion in the Chamber of Deputies.
