Almost two months after major works began on the new Luxembourg-Bettembourg line, the situation is set to improve on Monday 12 September.

For the first time since mid-July, cross- border commuters will no longer need to disembark their train and change in Bettembourg.

The line was completely closed from 16 July to 7 August, then partially reopened for trains on line 60 from 8 August onwards. Commuters travelling into Luxembourg from Nancy-Metz-Thionville on line 90, however, were forced to change trains in order to reach the capital.

Now, trains will operate normally during peak hours. However, passengers on line 90 will have to change trains if they are travelling between the hours of 9am and 4pm, switching to the line 60 in order to travel between Luxembourg and Bettembourg.

This new phase of work is expected to last until the end of October. During the holidays, from 29 October to 6 November inclusive, the line will again be closed between Luxembourg and Bettembourg.
