The maximum speed limit will be set at 90 km/h from 21 September onwards. The ministry specified that this regulation is applicable to both highways from the Belgo-Luxembourgish border up to the Kirchberg interchange.
This measure was put in place in June 2019 as a pilot project and, according to the ministry, resulted in the traffic flow becoming more homogeneous. This is due to a decrease in lane changes and abrupt braking manoeuvres that created long journey times and risk of accidents.
