A grim discovery was made on Tuesday afternoon when the body of a man was found in a metal shed in the forest near Hostert, in the commune of Niederanven.

According to a statement released by the Luxembourg public prosecutor’s office on Friday morning, both the autopsy and the investigation carried out by the criminal police have so far ruled out the involvement of a third party.

“At this stage of the investigation, the enquiries conducted by the judicial police, along with the autopsy results, do not point to any third-party involvement”, the prosecutor confirmed.

The man’s identity has not yet been conclusively established.

“The investigation into the cause of death and the identification of the deceased remains ongoing”, the statement added.
