Luxembourg CityPro-Russia 'Great Reset' conspiracy theorists launch electoral campaign

RTL Today
A pro-Russia group promoting the 'Great Reset' conspiracy theory will be on the ballot in Luxembourg City during municipal elections on June 11.

‘Mir d’Vollek’ (We the People) submitted an electoral list consisting of 14 candidates in the capital and has been assigned list No 8. The initiative was launched by Jean-Marie Jacoby, former member of the Luxembourg Communist Party (KPL) and journalist for the Zeitung vum Lëtzebuerger Vollek, and former Pirate Party member Peter Freitag. During the pandemic, Freitag and Jacoby organised several protests against the government’s Covid-19 policies.

A summary of the so-called opposition party’s demands can be found on its website. Key points include support for the ‘Great Reset’ conspiracy theory, climate change denial, calls for Luxembourg to leave NATO and an end to all support for “the fascist government in Kyiv.” The document repeatedly offers the removal of sanctions on Russia as a solution to real issues in Luxembourg, such as inflation and housing.

Other candidates for the group in Luxembourg City include the former president of the Party for Integral Democracy (PID) Christian Isekin and former Miss Luxembourg 2019 Melanie Heynsbroek.
