The energy supplier confirmed the power outage on their website.
A Creos spokesperson told RTL they had experienced a series of technical issues after one medium voltage cable in the Dudelange area failed, followed by a second fault on another cable which occurred during resupply work on the first. This produced a prolonged power cut, which was eventually resolved at around 8.30am.
A second medium voltage outage occurred this morning around 7.20am in the Redange-Ell-Colpach region. Power was restored around 8.30am.
The exact cause of the failure has not yet been established.
