In response to RTL's questions, Creos said the outage was caused by a defective cable, specifically a "low voltage outage" limited to "one road in Remich." Between six and ten houses are affected. The issue commenced at around 4am on Friday.

Creos teams have contacted the affected customers and disconnected them in order to safely rectify the issue. Engineers are on site to repair the cable, with the work expected to be concluded on Friday afternoon.
