POST have published a message on social media warning people against responding to the messages, which appear to be a phishing scam designed to obtain personal data from those targeted.
Official advice is to ignore such text messages or emails. POST's warning encourages recipients to delete the messages without clicking any links, and reiterates that POST would never ask customers to submit personal information through emails or texts.
The text in the scam tells the recipient their POST parcel is awaiting dispatch and that the recipient must first pay €2.99 on the attached link in order for the parcel to be dispatched.
