The first PackUp stations were installed in 2011, at the Gare Centrale and in Dudelange. More than 850,000 parcels were processed by the stations in 2019 alone. As a response to the increasing demand, POST have now opened their 100th station on Rue Emile Bian at the Cloche d'Or.
For the first time, POST expect to exceed, by the end of 2019, the milestone of one million parcels distributed in the PackUp network (through PackUp stations and points). Accessible 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, PackUp stations installed throughout the country have quickly become one of the preferred ways for residents to receive their parcels.
The PackUp stations have responded to new consumption habits, particularly the increase of online purchases and the need for flexibility of customers to receive parcels. No longer forced to go to the post office, customers can collect their post at PackUp points in petrol stations or shops, or at secure PackUp 24/24 stations.
Some 25% of parcels delivered by POST are processed through PackUp stations.
