
For those who did not opt to vote by mail, there were three locations to cast their ballots in person: in Gare, Cloche d’Or, and Bettembourg.
As Post employees work in shifts, the first election office opened its doors at 5am while the final ballots could be cast as late as 9pm.
In the 2019 social elections, the final count of votes from Post, which is Luxembourg’s third biggest employer, was announced at 2am.
At the time, 60% of eligible voters cast their ballot, with the Luxembourg Confederation of Christian Trade Unions (LCGB) and the Luxembourg Trade Union Confederation (OGBL) coming in second and third place, respectively.
The winner of that election was Post’s very own union, the ‘Syndicat des P&T’, which is affiliated with the General Confederation of the Civil Service (CGFP).
Just as five years ago, 16 delegate and 16 substitute seats were up for grabs on Tuesday.
