Private individuals have been receiving emails from an alleged judicial authority, such as a law firm or a bailiff, as part of a supposed criminal investigation.
The emails usually contain a link that carries a so-called "Trojan virus". Anyone receiving such an email should ignore it and delete it straight away.
In this context, police are also urging people, where possible, to inform and alert their elderly relatives and acquaintances to this form of fraud.
