The post office was broken into at around 2.40 am. The suspects had broken down the door to the branch and gained access to the telecoms shop, where they stole a number of smartphones.
The police are seeking any witnesses who may have seen something pertaining to the burglary. Anybody with information should contact officers at 244 60 1101.
The post office is not open as usual on Tuesday, with POST requesting that customers visit alternate post offices. The closest shop with postal services is in Esch-sur-Alzette, on the corner of Rue Zénon Bernard and Rue Xavier Brasseur. The closest post office is based in Oberkorn at 19, Route de Belvaux.
Differdange customers can also find postal services in the Cactus Shoppi attached to the Gulf petrol station as well as the Shell petrol station on Avenue de la Liberté. POST customers can also complete transactions at Raiffeisen branches.
