Police are looking for a man believed to be in his mid-twenties after a hit-and-run incident at the intersection of Route de Longwy and Rue des Romains in Pétange around 1.10pm on Wednesday.
According to the police press office, an eyewitness reported that a speeding car collided with a van at the crossing. The van driver sustained minor injuries in the crash.
After the collision, the car’s driver reportedly fled the scene in the direction of Rue Batty Weber and is currently being sought by police.
The man is described as having short hair and a trimmed beard, and was last seen wearing an orange jacket, a white t-shirt, dark trousers, and carrying a rucksack.
A police helicopter was also deployed during the search for the suspect.
