In the afternoon, law enforcement received a report of theft from a shop on Rue du Fossé. Security officers managed to apprehend the suspected shoplifter, but the situation escalated when police attempted to search the individual. The man turned aggressive, directing insults towards the officers and resisting their efforts. Despite his attempts to spit, kick, and bite, the perpetrator was successfully immobilised. Due to his heavily intoxicated state, posing a risk to himself and others, he was detained in a cell and fined.

At around 4.30pm, another incident occurred in a shop on Avenue de la Gare. Store staff apprehended the offender, who was subsequently taken to the police station. A search revealed over 100 grammes of marijuana in the suspect’s possession. The man was fined.

Assault at Hollerich bistro over unpaid drinks

In a separate incident at a bistro on Place Sts. Pierre et Paul in Hollerich, an assault transpired on Friday afternoon. The altercation ensued after a customer refused to settle the bill for his drinks. When asked to leave by a bistro employee, the individual responded violently, punching the woman.

Police intervened, escorting the intoxicated man to the police station, where he remained in custody for the rest of the day. The assaulted woman received medical attention at a local hospital for a thorough check-up.
