At around 4 pm, a driver lost control of the car on the main road in Marnich, then left the road and crashed into a streetlamp. The female passenger was unable to get out of the car as her legs were trapped and she had to be freed by rescue teams. She was taken to hospital with minor injuries.
Shortly after 3 am, a motorist ran into a street lamp in rue de l'École in Eischen. The reasons remain unclear, she was taken to hospital after initial treatment.
Around 4.15 am there was another accident, this time in rue de Roodt in Lannen. A woman wanted to drive away from her property, but instead rammed into the front of the house and was slightly injured. She was taken to hospital for a check-up.
A car was stopped in Hollerich at about 3 am and the driver was found to have had too much to drink. As he did not have a valid driving licence with him, the judiciary was informed and the car was impounded.
Another motorist attracted negative attention in the city at around 4 am and was subsequently checked. The alcohol test came out positive, so the man's driving licence was immediately seized.
