According to reports, the woman was attacked on Avenue de la Gare by an as-yet unknown individual. The mugger took the woman’s phone and fled the scene. An investigation has been opened into the incident.
Luxembourg police also reported a number of attempted break-ins. In Clervaux, a thief gained entry to a house on Route de Bastogne during the night, accessing the property via the garage, but was disturbed by the alarm going off. The individual fled without taking anything.
A further break-in was reported at a block of flats on Boulevard Docteur Charles Marx in Hollerich, early on Thursday morning. The intruder entered the apartment through a window and stole a laptop.
Investigations have been launched into both cases. Meanwhile, the police have reissued advice on protecting your property from intruders, as this time of year, break-ins are rife.
